Mixing Textures

Mixing textures has always been a favorite of mine.  I've been eying the whole leather & sweater trend for awhile now and finally decided to give it a try.

Sweater: Tommy Hilfiger (similar sequin sweater) / Button Down: Old Navy (here) c/o
Skirt: Dynamite (here) c/o / Shoes: Poshmark (similar)
Satchel: H&M (similar)/ Sunglasses: Charlotte Russe (similar on sale)

I wasn't initially planning on pairing this skirt with a sweater, but when looking through my closet it all kind of came together.  Those usually end up being my favorite outfits, the unplanned ones.  They say that over thinking kills creativity.  I'm not sure who "they" are, but they're absolutely right.  When I see a trend that I like, I always try to put my own personal spin on it.  I didn't want to just wear a sweater, so I decided to layer this embellished collar button down underneath to add another element.  The whole look kind of reminds me of a modern day school girl. (sort of) I went to a Catholic grammar school and our uniforms were hideous by the way lol

I love the little stones on the collar mixed with the sparkles and sequins in the sweater.  There is also a floral imprint on the skirt, but unfortunately it doesn't really show in the photos.  I found these shoes on Poshmark and they were brand new for only $28.  I have a similar pair I used to wear that you might remember, but they were a little different with the heel part open. These definitely give me more support and they have a thicker ankle strap and a higher heel, so that's a plus!  I definitely suggest getting on the Poshmark app.  There are lots of hidden gems on there.

On another note, thank you so much to everyone who voted for me in the Lucky and P&G Beauty contest.  I am one of the four winners!  We will be shooting a fun video campaign at the end of the month and I can't wait to share more!  Thanks so much for all the support loves.

Cheers to the weekend!
