Tips & Tricks // Stylish At The Office + Zara Give Away

Having a job interview or starting a new job at the office soon? We all know how dreadful job interviews can be and while some might not know it... Don't underestimate the importance and / or impact of the outfit you're wearing to your job (interview). Remember: first impressions can make or break you and you'll never get a second chance to change the first thing that popped up into someone's mind when saw you for the first time.

To help you out, Shark Attack teamed up with Monster Belgium a.k.a. Belgium's number one recruiting network. We thought it would be nice to share some tips with my readers. What to wear during a jobinterview, a day at the office ...?
Here are some tips to get you started:

* Corporate Chameleon

If possible, try to find out as much as you can on the company's dress code policies. This will give you the chance to adapt your outfit to the company, which will give them the impression you belong there right away. If you're having a job interview at VOGUE, it's natural that you can spice up your outfit just that little bit more than when you're having a meeting at a lawyer's office.

* When In Doubt, Go For Professional

Looking like a pro will hardly give you a bad score, even if the company's environment is more casual.

* Be Comfortable

Not totally feeling your outfit? Don't wear it! People will notice and you will miss your opportunity to shine and look confident. Confidence is the key, ladies and gents!

* The Center Of Attention ...

... is you! So, try to avoid over-the-top prints, make up and bling bling jewelry. They will derive the attention from your personality and what you have to say.

* Make It Your Own

Looking professional does not mean that you have to look completely boring. It's okay to give your look a personal touch, just don't take it to extreme levels.

I hope that the tips above were somewhat useful!

When it comes to looks to wear to the office, I rely on Lauren Conrad.
I've been a fan of her ever since Laguna Beach and ever since she started as an intern at Teen Vogue, she's had her share of 'professional' looks. I'm a big fan of the classic office looks and she knows how to wear them.
Okay, here we go ...

Ah, the pencil skirt. My absolute favorite!
Such a classic -- Every girl should own one of these in her closet. Just pair it up with a nice blouse (not too much cleavage, please) and a pair of pumps and you're ready to get interviewed. You might wanna go for a pencil skirt that's a bit longer, lets say ... 'till right above the knee. You don't want to let your (future) boss think you're trying to seduce him, right?

An outfit that, for me, would work for both an interview or a day at the office. I never thought I'd like flare pants, but I just love this outfit. Lauren's mixing classic and edgy in a way that she looks super sophisticated.

A black blazer, a black top, skinny jeans and a pair of flats... Simple, yet chic!
I'd avise to wear this outfit for a day at the office, though. Remember that blue jeans are a big no no if you're going to a job interview. Still want to wear this outfit to the interview? Change to a black pair of pants.

Who ever said that suits are for men only?
Olivia Wild and Leighton Meester are totally rocking the tuxedo look. You might want to wear pumps - to give that extra feminine touch - and drop the tie, though.

Another timeless, classic piece every (wo)man should have in their closet:
the trench coat.
It's important to remember that it's also important to look good while entering and leaving the building you're working at or are planning to work at. It doesn't start from the moment you walk into the office, it's starts when you arrive outside the building. Do you want to grab a quick lunch or a coffee outside or at the cafetaria in the building? Be sure to look perfect even then!
