The Emmy Awards 2011

The Emmy Awards took place last night in Los Angeles and the stars were out in full force to celebrate the best in television. I of course put my fashion hat on to bring you the highlights from the awards and show you what the stars were wearing.

Ravishing in Red!

Red gowns and dresses dominated the red carpet as many stars worked the vibrant colour. Statement earrings replaced necklaces with many stars opting for bare necks. The stars opted for silver accessories to compliment the red colour of their gowns.

Glee star Lea Michele opted for a low draped Marchesa gown, and kept her look simple yet effective by choosing a statement ring.

Kate Winslet brought some Hollywood glamour to the red carpet opting for an Elie Saab dress. Kate kept her accessories minimal opting for simple statement earrings and a jeweled bracelet.

E! host Guiliana Rancic looked stunning in Roberto Cavalli. I do love her chose of gown and accessories. Her simple hairstyle finishes of her look nicely.

Star of the Vampire Diaries Nina Dobrev walked up the red carpet in Donna Karen. She was one of the few stars that chose a simple necklace that finished of her outfit nicely.

Entertainment Tonight host Nancy O'Dell opted for a simple red figure-hugging gown. I do love her accessories the blue colour of her jewels compliments the red nicely.

Kerry Washington shows us how to work the ever-trendy fringe dresses. She looks dazzling in her fringed red dress.

Modern Family star Sofia Vergara looked stunning in Vera Wang. I love this Vera Wang gown it is pretty and the colour looks great. Love the statement earrings too! I know her gown is not red but she does show us how to work a lighter pastel shade for those that do not want to wear a bold red gown.

Babes in Blue!

Another colour that was popular amongst the stars was blue.

Amy Poehler star of Parks and Recreation opted for a sparkly blue number. I am not a fan of this, as it looks a tad bit tacky.

Katie Holmes chose a simple Calvin Klein collection dress and although the star looks nice it is a bit simple. I would love to see Katie in something more glamorous.

Paris Hilton's aunt and star of Real Housewives of Beverly Hills Kyle Richards chose Ines DiSanto. I think a lighter blue colour would have looked much better.

Dianna Agron opted for Roksanda Illincic and looked great. The colour looks great on Dianna and I love her accessories.

Star of How I Met Your Mother, Cobie Smulders shows us how to work the blue gown trend she looks gorgeous. I love this shade of blue too.

Clare Danes opted for an unusual Oscar de la Renta gown. This look is far too simple and I am not a fan of the pattern on the dress it reminds me of some art project. Harsh but true!

Best Dressed

There were so many well dressed stars that it was difficult to choose just one so two stars will be taking away the award for Love For Fashion's Best Dressed star.

Kelly Osbourne looked stunning in J Mendel. I love her simple yet effective gown and the colour looks great on Kelly. Love her accessories too!

Heidi Klum is the next star to get the Best dressed award. I love her Christian Siriano dress that makes a pleasant change from the other gowns seen on the red carpet.

Worst Dressed

As with all awards ceremonies there are always those that just miss the mark.

Padma Laksmi is such a pretty lady but this Armani Prive gown does nothing for the Top Chef host. The colour looks drab on her and her hair looks too messy.
