LFW, Day 2 - The Highlights

London Fashion week kicked of yesterday with a variety of shows taking place across the day, PPQ, Alice Palmer, Sass and Bide and Bora Aksu were just some of the designers that showed their S/S 2012 collections.

Day 2 (today) saw another jam packed day for the fashion pack in London with designers such as Jonathan Saunders, Henry Holland, Ashish, Julian Macdonald, Jaeger and Vivienne Westwood (Red Label) taking to the catwalks to show their latest offerings. For this blog post I have selected a few of my favorite shows from today’s shows to bring you a quick summery of what has been shown on the runways.

Ashish - Ashish brought some glamour to the world of gardening with a collection that was full of sequinned floral prints. The sequined creations were paired with heavy lace up boots that had an essence of softness thanks to the mini daisies spouting out from the tops.

House of Holland - Lovers of the leopard print need not worry, as Henry Holland has made sure it will be part of our S/S 12 wardrobes. The designer had plenty of enlarged leopard print in the form of pastel colours make its way down the catwalk. High waisted and bleach-splattered jeans that had seams replaced by metallic zips were aplenty. If that does not take your fancy then the peach cotton blouses with snakeskin collars or maybe the metallic mesh knits will. There were also offerings of leather skirts and dresses, blue tartan and rubber knickers and bras on the catwalk making Henry Holland's show one to remember!

Jonathan Saunders - Another beautiful collection from Jonathan Saunders who is London's master of print. This time round the print designs came in a selection of multi coloured kaleidoscopes and degrade paisleys. There was a selection of tailored, sleeveless dresses and silky PJ tops and bottoms. Metallic knits also made an appearance at Jonathan Saunders collection that added a cool vibe to the runway. Ladies note this; the midi skirt is very much alive for next S/S 12 so make sure you don't get rid of the classic number!

Julian Macdonald - This collection will certainly appeal to those of us that our set to spend out summer on an expensive yacht, because that is what influenced the designers latest collection. The collection was all about richness, modernity and glossiness. There were a variety of laser cut leathers, bonded jersey, blue and white block prints that came in the form of trousers and matching jackets. The dresses added an air of femininity as they were embellished with black lace and beading.

One to watch.

Emilio De La Morena - This is certainly one designer to keep a watch on. This year marks Emilio's fifth year at LFW and it is certainly a collection to look at. The was a girly vibe to the collection that came in the form of floaty skirts, and bodycon dresses. The prints are definitely one to look at in more detail as they were beautiful. Wearing this designers dresses in S/S is certainly a way to turn heads as you sway down the street.
