LFW, Day 4 + 5 - The Highlights

LFW came to an end today, well as far as womenswear goes, and what a fashion week it has been. Celebrities such as Kanye West, Sienna Miller and the lady of fashion herself, Anna Wintour, graced the various fashion shows with their presence.

Day 4

Day 4 saw a busy and exciting day for the fashion brood who attended shows such as Mark Fast, Louise Gray, Christopher Kane, Todd Lynn, Erdem, Giles and of course the big one Burberry.

Christopher Kane - There was a sombre feeling at Christopher Kane with a selection of pale shift dresses that soon turned to bold floral prints and then to plastic embellishments on nude chiffon dresses.

Mark Fast - Mark Fast really is a legend when it comes to knitwear; he always makes it look for fashion forward. This show was no different and he showed a collection full of fab knitwear that came in a colour palette of neutral shades that developed into yellows, oranges and then blacks.

Burberry - This was one show that if you couldn't make it to watch in person you could watch it on the Internet live. To me the show was all about midi skirts, trench coats, wedges, dark tones, stripes and bold pop art style prints.

Giles - The Giles show had a magical frosty vibe to it. There was a selection of laser cuts and silver dresses with red detailing. A swan print also popped up on a selection of garments. Tassels, feathers, and lace added to the magical vibe of the collection.

Day 5 - Finale.

Day 5 (Tues) saw the fashion pack walk from show to show for the last time in London until A/W as the womenswear shows came to an end today. (Alas all is not lost as the menswear shows kick of tomorrow and then Milan Fashion Week!) Designers such as Mary Katrantzou, Aquascutum, Roksanda Ilincic, Twenty8Twelve, Meadham Kirchhiff, Amanda Wakeley and Danielle Scutt showed their S/S offerings.

Aquascutum - There was a cool vibe over at Aquascutum with wide mannish trousers, blazers, shimmering fabrics, tweed and leather. Neutral colours proved popular and ruled the catwalk with the odd shading of yellows and blacks making an appearance.

Meadham Kirchhiff - This show brought some madness to LFW, which was appreciated. There was a pantomime vibe to the show that had a hint of clowning around and nursery rimes to it!

Danielle Scutt - Bleached denim, a hint of tartan and spotted prints made their way down the catwalks in all shapes and sizes. Layering also proved popular over at Danielle Scutt.
