Colour wise nude gowns and neutral tones proved popular as did black, red and blue gowns with the majority of stars opting for the above colour choices. Hair and makeup was kept simple with many stars opting for an up-do or curls that where swept to the side.
Best Dressed
Hayden Panettiere looked stunning in her simple yet effective Roberto Cavalli gown.
Heidi Klum looked elegant in Alexandre Vauthier.
Jessica Alba worked a peach Oscar de la Renta gown. Normally peach can make you looked washed out but Jessica worked this gown really well.
Worst dressed
Unfortunately I do think Sienna Miller should have opted for something different as this Erdem skirt and top do nothing for the actress. Her hair and makeup looked terrible too and she was not even wearing any jewellery. I would have expected something better from Sienna.
Not a fan of Giuliana Rancic 's Celia Kritharioti gown which looks awkward on the E! news host. She normally wear such lovely gowns so this choice was disappointing too.
Neutral Tones
Neutral tones proved popular amongst the stars with many opting for white, cream and light peach gowns.
Amanda Seyfried opted for a custom Givenchy dress.
Kristen Bell worked pregnancy chic in her Jenny Packham gown.
Lea Michele opted for a lovely Elie Saab gown.
Amy Adams in Marchesa.
Jennifer Lopez worked her Zuhair Murad gown.
Anne Hathaway opted for a very simple look with this Chanel dress. I do wish she had wore a statement necklace to complete the look.
Megan Fox chose Dolce and Gabbana.
Kelly Osbourne opted for a fishtail Zac Posen gown.
Julianne Hough opted for Monique Lhullier. I quite like this extravagant gown, she works it well.
Kerry Washington opted for Miu Miu.
Black Dresses
Once again black dresses proved popular amongst the stars. Scroll down to see who wore what.
Adele opted for Burburry. What do we think?
Rachel Weisz opted for Louis Vuitton. This was certainly different to the gowns on the red carpet but I do feel it was a bit too simple.
Nicole Kidman in Alexander McQueen.
Salma Hayek in Gucci. Personally I was not a fan of this dress, didn't do much for the actress.
Katherine McPhee wore a plunging Theyskens' Theory dress.
Debra Messing opted for Donna Karan and Amrapali jewellery.
Eva Longoria opted for Emilio Pucci gown and Charlotte Olympia heels and looked stunning.
Helena Bonham Carter opted for a lace Dolce and Gabbana dress,. This certainly fitted in with Helena's style as did the quirky clutch bag.
And the rest
Some stars decided to add some colour to the red carpet with many opting for blue and red gowns.
Taylor Swift opted for a Donna Karan dress.
Jennifer Lawrence opted for a Dior Haute Couture gown.
Nicole Richie stood out in her Naeem Khan gown.
Emily Blunt opted for a Michael Kors gown.
Jennifer Garner opted for Vivienne Westwood.
Claire Danes opted for Versace.
