The Grammy Awards took place last night in Los Angeles and with the new dress code made clear days before the event took place (if you don't know stars were asked not to wear 'inappropriate' clothing...yeah I know right) I was intrigued to see what the likes of Rihanna would wear.
Fashion wise it was a mix, from black gowns to colourful ensembles, with more misses than hits!
Best Dressed
My best dressed of the night would have to be Rihanna, she looked stunning in her simple yet effective custom made Azzedine Alaia. With her 'natural' styled hair and makeup Rihanna proved that sometimes it is best to keep it simple.
Worst Dressed
I have to say there where quite a few misses when it came to red carpet fashion but the one that made me go oh dear was Adele's Valentino floral dress. Don't get me wrong I love Valentino but not this floral ensemble, far too much!
LBD...
As always black proved popular on the red carpet with many opting for black gowns.
I was surprised when I saw Beyonce in a monochrome jumpsuit rather than a gown but I have to say she worked this Osman Yousefzada really well!
JLo did an Angelina Jolie and showed off one leg in this Anthony Vaccarello gown. Personally not my favourite look of JLo's.
Alicia Keys chose a simple Azzedine Alaia outfit.
Kelly Rowland worked her daring Georges Chakra gown.
Carrie Underwood opted for Roberto Cavalli.
Carly Rae Jepson was another singer that opted for Roberto Cavalli.
Ashanti opted for a subtle florals.
And the rest....
Nicole Kidman opted for Vera Wang.
Taylor Swift opted for a Grecian style white J Mendel gown.
Alexa Chung was another that disappointed me with her look. Although she looked nice this isn't really something you would wear to the Grammy's, looks more like something you could wear to a picnic!
Katy Perry chose Gucci. Is it only me or has anyone else noticed that over the past few month Katy Perry has subtly changed her style, opting for a more subtle look.
Solange chose a simple sequinned Ralph & Russo Couture gown.
Another one to opt for green was Florence Welsh in Givenchy. Not a fan of this dress, reminds me of Alien's.
The Guys...
Can't help but talk about what the guys wore as many looked dapper. I have to say my attention automatically went to their shoes, some of them made some fab choices when it came to footwear!
Justin Timberlake was one of my best dressed males of the night in Tom Ford. I love his shoes!!
Chris Brown went for an all white look, once again though my attention went to the shoes, another pair I loved!
Miguel was another artist that opted for a white suit, again check out his shoes!!
Drake looked cute in his simple suit and bow tie.
Frank Ocean opted for a more casual look in blue.
