Today should be renamed stylish Sunday as the who's who in music and film are strutting their stuff on the red carpets for the BAFTA's, which are taking place as I type, and of course the Grammy Awards which are set to begin soon, over in the States.
This post is all about the red carpet fashion at the BAFTA's which saw black rule when it came to gowns, and natural makeup with statement red lips and soft curls and up-do's when it came to the hair.
Best Dressed
For me, surprisingly it was Laura Whitmore who stole the show in this Alexandre Vauthier jumpsuit. I love the cape'esque detailing on the back and how Laura has styled the outfit.
Thandie Newton was another one that stood out for me. Love her Louis Vuitton lace dress, simple yet effective.
Black rules...
Once again, as with most of the awards ceremonies taking place this year, black proved popular on the red carpet with many of the stars opting for black outfits. This is certainly one colour that always stays in fashion.
Anne Hathaway added a bit of fun with her Burberry gown. She works this look well.
I have to say I was a bit disappointed when I saw SJP, she normally wears something so exciting and her Elie Saab jumpsuit was a bit too safe for the BAFTA's.
Amy Adams was another star that opted for Elie Saab, and she worked the lace detailed gown well.
Caroline Flack stayed away from her statement look of shorts and opted for a pretty Morella Sassoonand gown.
Gemma Atherton opted for a natural look and looked lovely. Simple yet effective. Although I am not a major fan of the Celia Kritharioti gown she does work it!
Jennifer Garner went for a simple look in this monochrome gown. Not my favourite look I have seen the actress in but she does look nice.
A pop of colour.
Whilst many opted for black some stars opted to bring some colour to the red carpet.
Jessica Chastain opted for the vivid blue Roland Mouret gown.
Nothing like a bit of neon yellow to make an entrance! Marion Cotillard certainly did in this Dior gown, have to say I love this on her she pulls it off really well. Love her choice of accessories and hair too!
Laura Bailey opted for a simple Roksanda Illincic gown.
Although I know cream is not exactly a pop of colour, Jennifer Lawrence's Dior gown brought some sparkle to the red carpet.
