The Midi skirt was seen on the catwalks a while back for S/ S 11 but this is another great piece that you can take from S/S into A/W. Recently I have been looking for pieces that can be worn for the few months of summer we have left and then can be worn again in winter, so this blog piece is dedicated to showing you how to do just that.
The Midi is easy to wear and adds a touch of femininity to your wardrobe, whether paired with a slouchy cardi and ankle boots or a feminine top, as seen above on model Selita Ebanks.
Pairing a loose fitting jumper with a midi skirt is a great chic look for winter, as shown above.
The colour blocking trend can work well with the midi, as seen above on the DVF catwalk. This colour combination is great for the summer but can also brighten up the dull winter days.
I particularly love the fuller pleated seventies style midi skirts as I feel they look classic and are flattering. Look to Keira Knightley, Alexa Chung and Ashley Olsen for style influences as they wear it well.
