My parents and I took a trip to Liège yesterday. The reason? One of my all time favorite multi brands stores, Irina Khä, invited us to discover their Delvaux-colletion. If you ever happen to be in Liège, I highly suggest you to visit the store. Located in a beautiful and gigantic building, you will find three floors filled with the best designer brands. I'm talking about Balenciaga, Balmain, Chloé, Filles À Papa, Prada, Stella McCartney and many more.
Anyway, back to the main reason of my visit: Irina Khä will also be selling Delvaux from now on. For those who are not familiar with the brand, let me give you a short introduction:
Delvaux was founded by Charles Delvaux in Brussels in 1829, which makes it the world's oldest fine leather luxury goods House. That's quite a handful, but Belgians are very proud when it comes to the brand and they have every right to be. The Belgian royals are spotted with a Delvaux on a regular basis and the same goes for the Dutch royals as well. The brand owns several ateliers in Belgium and France, where each item is made by hand by the best craftsmen. During the event, I had the chance to chat with a couple of people who work for Delvaux and they told me that they're opening several stores all over the world. I can only approve of this, since I get the feeling that Delvaux doesn't always get the credit it deserves.
I absolutely loved the collection at Irina Khä. Even though I always thought that Delvaux was meant for an older and more mature public, taking a close look at the collection proved me wrong completely. You'll see what I mean when you see the pictures.
I would like to thank Irina Khä and Delvaux for having me there and especially Morgane for the warm welcome. It was so nice to meet you!
Coat: ZARA // Blouse: ZARA // Jeans: H&M // Boots: SUPERTRASH 'ARMER' BOOTS // Bag: CHANEL
The 'Brilliant' bags had to be there, of course. They're the brand's most well known and iconic design, without a doubt. I was talking to Morgane about how I always thought this design was for the grown up, more mature woman, when she said: "Hold it!" She took the black, medium bag you can see in the first picture and wore it with the strap on her shoulder. I have to admit that I had to take back what I said, because I was totally wrong. The 'Brilliant' bag is suited for every age, going from adolescent to granny. Just try it on and you'll see! Still not convinced? Don't worry, because there's still the 'Brilliant' clutch (last picture).
A quick glimpse at the shoe section on the second floor, just to give you an impression of the store.
The 'Tempête GM'. They remind me of the Hermès Kelly in a way. I could definitely see myself wear one of these.
I just had to take a picture of these fellas! How cute are they? Their gesture isn't that nice, but I still want a garden full of these.
My favorite model of all: the 'Madame'. I love how the design is classy and typical Delvaux, but also fresh and young. It's the perfect bag to complete outfits for both day and night. As you can see in the last two pictures, they also come in clutches and wallets. The red bag is my favorite. I was trying to drop subtle hints to my dad (Christmas is just around the corner), but of course, he didn't get it. Or he was pretending not to hear me, that's possible too... Anyway, mission failed.
So, what's your favorite model?
I can't wait to hear your thoughts on this one. It's a Belgian brand and I live in Belgium, so now I'm extra curious (and nervous)!
