The American Music Awards 2012

The American Music Awards took place last night in the Nokia theatre in Los Angeles and the night saw performances by Nicki Minaj, Justin Bieber, Christina Aguilera, The Wanted, Usher, as well as a collaboration between PSY and MC Hammer.

Tone it Down. 
Neutral tones seemed to dominate the red carpet with many stars opting for peach, silver and light gold coloured dresses.

Pink opted for a Catherine Deane gown.

Ke$ha opted for a lace dress. 

Carly Rae Jepsen opted for a Gomez- Gracia gown 

Kelly Rowland rocked her printed dress. 

Hayden Panettiere opted for a simple silver dress. 

Heidi Klum in Alexandre Vauthier dress

Jordin Sparks opted for a printed Etro gown. Personally I am not a fan of this print.

Gwen Stefani rocked a Balmain jacket and leather leggings. 

Shine Bright Like a Diamond. 

Some stars opted for brighter coloured garments. I shall leave it to you lovely Stylista's to decide whether they stood out for the right reasons or not. 

Nicki Minaj opted for a bright yellow Monique Lhullier gown.

Carrie Underwood looked pretty in a purple, lace gown. 

Christina Aguilera chose to work some colour with her Pamella Roland gown. 

The Guys.

The male artists of the night opted for a mixture of casual attire and suits, most opting to work the colour black. 

Jason Derulo worked a monochrome look. 

 The Wanted looked dapper in their suits. 

Chris Brown worked a monochrome look. 

MC Hammer and PSY added some swagger to the red carpet. 

Usher was another star that opted for an all black look. 

Drake opted for a more casual look. 

Justin Bieber opted for an all black look and statement red, studded shoes.
